TIMESOFINDIA (http://bit.ly/ZL0CgY) reports that Badie Aref, Saddam’s attorney who is about to release his tell-all, states he was told by an Iraqi intelligence head that Saddam, furious that Israel had wiped out his nuclear program in a June 7, 1981 airstrike, actively recruited Palestinian operatives to kidnap Begin and bring him to Baghdad.

According to Aref’s upcoming version, Saddam’s plan was only cancelled after an unnamed western leader intervened.
