The New York Post (http://bit.ly/1zkPmbi) reports Mohammad Saram, 22, burst from his basement located at 910 McDonald Ave. in flames around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Saram was taken to Maimonides Medical Center in critical condition, where he died Wednesday morning.

Containers holding chemicals used to make flavored tobacco for hookahs were found on site. Authorities believe the fire started because of the poorly ventilated basement.

One firefighter was injured fighting the flames.
