Israel National News (http://bit.ly/1wn6zfB) reports Kei Takagi, manager of JETRO’s Tel Aviv branch, says the trade goes both ways, with many Israeli companies wanting to enter the Japanese market as well.
Atsuhide Kato, president and CEO of Katoukichibee Shouten, has introduced its Born brand of sake into the Israeli market, in addition to kosher foods.
The sake brewery, founded in 1860, and its Born brand, has won a high number of gold medals worldwide at sake and wine competitions.
Kato recently entered into a business contract with Israeli importing company Yama and Kedma, and plans to expand the Japanese presence in Israel. Yama and Kedma, with its Japanese kosher food company/partner Yama Mizrah, has also now begun concentrating on Israel.
