The U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) said the patient, who had worked with Ebola patients in Guinea, “participated in the enhanced screening for all returning travelers from these countries” on his arrival at JFK.

This referred to special screening introduced earlier this month at five major U.S. airports – including JFK – for travelers coming from the three countries in West Africa worst hit by Ebola: Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.

The doctor “went through multiple layers of screening and did not have a fever or other symptoms of illness,” the CDC added in a statement. The CDC did not name the patient, but he was identified by other officials as Dr. Craig Spencer.

Why does Cuomo look like a cross between a deer caught in headlights and a caricature of a movie mobster?

    > “the patient…participated in the enhanced screening for all returning travelers from these countries on his arrival at JFK.”
    >> So, will the health authorities now admit that their “enhanced screening” DOESN’T WORK?! If Dr. Spencer was able to come through without a hitch, how many thousands more are entering the country carry the Ebola virus undetected? We are once again subject to the incompetence and lies of the Obama administration, which is more afraid of “offending” travelers from Africa (in its paroxysm of political correctness) than of protecting the American people.

Maybe travelers from these countries should be isolated for 21 days and then admitted to the US. That’s what they used to do on Ellis Island in the old days. Anyone with suspicious symptoms could then be treated. Everyone else, could enter.

I’m sure it would cut back on travel, but it would protect the nation.
