Chestnut Ridge, NY - A drop of blood smaller than a pin point led Ramapo police to a suspect of three village robberies from earlier this year.
Stanley Simeon, 31, of 19 Linden Ave. in Spring Valley is being held on $20,000 bail.
Police said that Simeon was a suspect in three burglaries reported March 31 in Chestnut Ridge.
Homes on Gail Court, Sunny Ridge Court and Scotland Hill Road were burglarized, Ramapo police Lt. Brad Weidel said.
He was charged with burglary and attempted burglary.
Investigators found a drop of blood smaller than a pin point at one of the homes. They were able to extract DNA from the sample, which was matched to Simeon.
Police are still investigating to see if Simeon might be connected with other robberies that occurred in Ramapo at the same time.
Homes in Pomona, Hillcrest, Wesley Hills and New Hempstead were burglarized during a two-week period in late March and early April.
Cash and jewelry were taken in the three Chestnut Ridge burglaries. None of the proceeds have been recovered.
