Jerusalem, Israel - Israel Using Rats to Drive Away Arabs? |

Rats have become an Israeli weapon to displace and expel Arab residents of Jerusalem, it said in a report. "Over the past two months, dozens of (Jewish) settlers come to the alleyways and streets of the Old City carrying iron cages full of rats. They release the rats, which find shelter in open sewage systems," the report said.
The official Palestinian news agency quoted unnamed Arab residents as saying that they had tried to eliminate the rats with various poisons, but to no avail.
Israel's goal was to "increase the suffering of the (Arabs) in Jerusalem by turning their lives into a real tragedy and forcing them to evict their homes and leave the city," Hasan Khater, was quoted by the agency as saying.
Jerusalem Municipality spokesman, Gidi Schmerling, dubbed the report a work of "pure fiction", with no connection to reality, the Jerusalem Post reported.

Rats are Tumah. I find it hard to believe that Jews would increase the Tumah in Jerusalem by setting out rats.
But then again, most of the settlers are not able to register a marriage in Israel............

Why would you doubt the Jewishness of someone who feels bad for some Palestinians? Wouldn't you agree that they are not well-served by their leaders, who are exploiting them to further their personal/ political cause?

Nothing is being done to decrease the ARAB population of Israel and the "Peace Now" will get a sniff of an idea of this sort and they will file suit against the govt. I wish this was true.

let me get this straight. wafa is now claiming that the israeli governjment has geneticaly engineered rats that are immune to rat poisin? and are letting them loose in the old city of jerusalem? introducing more rats into the city would affect both the entire population not just the muslims. i think this claim takes the cake. rats are attracted to dirt and grime. ther fact is that the palistinian controled portions of israel are much more dilapidate dand dirty than the jewish sections. the rats can see that for themselves they dont need our help.
