Dubbed the NY Energy Manager, the center is located at the Colleges of Nanoscale Science and Engineering at SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Albany.
It’s being run by the New York Power Authority to provide up-to-the-moment energy use information to more than 3,000 state government facilities and other entities such as the City University of New York.
Governor Andrew Cuomo says it’s expected to accelerate efforts to improve energy management of state facilities, saving taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars over the coming years.
