Thousands of Shluchim from out of state who are visiting Brooklyn for the International Conference gathered for prayers earlier this morning on the gravesite of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, in the Queens borough of New York.

“When the Rebbe passed away, there were maybe 1,500 shluchim,” according to RabbiShimon Lazaroff, who along with his wife, Chiena, were sent to Texas by Rebbe in 1972. “Now there are approximately 4,000shluchim. We have more than doubled because of that vision of the Rebbe to go and follow his directive.”still gather and are going on 4,000 couples strong since Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of righteous memory, passed away 20 years ago.

Shlichus is really a lifestyle,” said Rabbi Henoch Rosenfeld, 25, who with his wife, Sarah, 22, and 8-month-old son Mendel, moved to Pittsburgh to join a large group of established shluchim, including his parents, Rabbi Yisroel and Blumi Rosenfeld.

“As much as the Rebbe left us with his teachings,” says Rosenfeld, “he left us with a timeless mission to bring every Jew closer to Judaism and their roots. [It’s a mission] that is as present today as it was 30 years ago, when the Rebbe sent them personally.”

Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky, chairman of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch, the educational arm of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement, says that “when you look at the panorama of Chabad around the world, it’s beautiful. There’s nothing like it. But we must remember that we haven’t even begun to scratch the surface.

“We can’t relax until we reach every Jew. We have a long way to go.”

Israel’s Speaker of the Knesset Yuli Edelstein is expected to deliver the keynote address .

I am a litvish working guy and find it to be a ness that there are 4,000 Shluchim and they are making some kind of parnassa, being able to live…Most people here would probably say: I can’t do it because how am I going to make a living? Guess what, Hashem is providing for them. I am jealous of them. They are like Avraham Avinu. I have been the recipient of their hospitality in Latin America and Europe. Millions and millions have benefited from them, directly or indirectly. Even though I think it’s wrong to think the Rebbe is Maschiach, of all evil, I wish this was our worst; and they do have some reason for thinking like that – Look at what they accomplish!

To #1 – ” Even though I think it’s wrong to think the Rebbe is Maschiach, of all evil, I wish this was our worst; “

YOU THINK THIS IS EVIL? You venerate “RabbiSchach” who instructed his followers to DANCE when he heard the Rebbe was nistalek? And that is OK by you? That’s a good day’s work? Reall ahavat yisrael, wouldn’t you say?

You probably took advantage of MY children’s hospitality as Shluchim, yet you don’t miss a trick to to malign Chabad. You little lowlife.

Do any of you people hating each other know each other personally? ??????? The sinas chinam sprinkled throughout this thread of comments is utterly out of line with the Rebbe’s total ahavas chinam for all of Klal Yisrael and what I expected to read here. Very disappointed. I’m embarrassed by all of you who posted bad things about Yidden. My memories of the Rebbe — no I’m not Lubavitch but did gain immeasurably from having them nearby in far-flung places — bring me joy.

    so sad!
someone gives praise and look at what it evoked!? it’s terribly unfortunate.
I am chabad – I have children who are shluchim – I love to talk to them as often as I can – their experiences are truly amazing. They get excited when they put tfillin on another yid – they are thrilled when a girl or woman light Shabbos candles –
when someone decides to keep kosher they are over the moon – This is a benefit to each and every one of us. Whenever a yid does yet one more mitzvah each and every one of us benefits. WE are all in this together.
Let’s all do what we can to help bring forth the long awaited geula!!!
