Jerusalem – Israel Launches New Security Program After Weeks Of Terror Attacks

    Israel Hayom (http://bit.ly/1teUAx4) reports Public Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch, Finance Minister Yair Lapid, Israel Police Commissioner ‎Yohanan Danino  and Mayor Nir Barkat toured the capital, visiting the City of David, Mabat 2000 – the command center for the Jerusalem police’s surveillance network –  the Armon Hanatziv neighborhood, where the Jerusalem police district commander gave a security briefing.

    “The government of Israel and the security cabinet are determined to fight terror wherever it is,” said Lapid.

    The city is deployed 80 new municipal patrol vehicles, operated by municipal security guards, to Safra Square in central Jerusalem for security training from Barkat and municipal emergency and security officials. The training was part of Barkat’s plan to strengthen civilian and personal security in the city and in educational institutions.

    Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz is considering reintroducing security officers on public transportation.

    While the officials were touring the city, a riot broke out in Isawiya, with masked young men throwing stones at border police officers.
