Lima, Peru - Seven people, including a 23-year-old Israeli hiker Assaf Hakim from the city of Ma’aleh Adumim, were killed Thursday in a head-on collision between two buses in Peru.
The Israeli Embassy informed Hakim’s parents of their sons’ death. His body is expected to be transferred from the Ika region to the capital of Lima and will arrive to Israel on a plane scheduled to land in Tel Aviv on Saturday evening.
According to local media, the Israeli hiker was identified by the hospital with the help of a certificate issued in Chile about three months ago.
