The man, who is 40, has admitted his role in the attack, said prosecutor Marie-Christine Tarrare. She said he had been hospitalized 157 times for psychiatric problems since 2001, most recently this fall.

She said the man, the French-born son of North African immigrants, acted alone and had no religious motivations, but rather was upset at the treatment of Chechen children.

He shouted ‘God is great’ to give himself courage to act, and not out of religious belief, Tarrare said.

The suspect was arrested. Eight people remain hospitalized Monday.

One of the dumber explanations of someone’s behavior I’ve ever read. I don’t care if the guy was loony. He had a religious foundation to what he did. Why oh why oh why does the media insist on denying the true nature, impact and intent of Islam in the world? But – like to so-called Palestinians, the French never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.

Hey France enjoy it and njoy what’s next more and more killings.
Lmao ” he shouted G-d is great just to give himself encouragement” that’s the best one I’ve heard since Obama called Ft Hood “workplace violence” and N Korea hack “cyber vandalism”.

Can’t make this stuff up. “He shouted ‘God is great’ to give himself courage to act, and not out of religious belief, Tarrare said.”
