In 2005, Rabbi Shmuel Posner was forced to close his Chabad of Nova outreach center because the city's zoning laws banned religious groups from business districts.
Last week, U.S. District Judge Cecilia Altonaga ruled the city violated federal law.
Franklin Zemel, Posner's attorney, plans to call City Commissioner Neal deJesus, a city employee and a Hollywood rabbi as witnesses today.
Zemel estimates damages could exceed $1 million, including attorneys' fees. Any damages would be covered by the city's insurer, said attorney Michael Burke, who is handling the case for Cooper City.

I saw this Chabad less than 2 weeks ago. My wife had some business to attend to at Nova Southeastern. Chabad has a big center in nearby Cooper City.
Regardless, there are a lot of Jews who attend Nova - both undergraduate and for their various graduate/professional schools. So this is good news.
