the attacker is described as a White male, 20-25 years old, approximately 5’9”, black hair,
“We are going to protect our children and our streets,” said Assemblyman Hikind (D-Brooklyn) alerting residents to a vicious three-hour assault on a Borough Park resident.
At 8:45 p.m. Sunday night, an unknown attacker forced a fourteen-year-old girl into a four-door black sedan, drove the victim to a secluded location and sodomized her, and then attempted to rape her. The teen fought with her attacker; he then drove on and left her at Fort Hamilton Parkway and 36th Street after midnight.
“At 8:45 p.m. the streets of Borough Park are still well populated; someone must have seen something. We are urging witnesses to come forward with any information. Parents and teens must be more alert and vigilant to their surroundings, until this attacker is caught,” Hikind added.
Offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the assailant, Hikind said, “The perpetrator will be caught and will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”

This allegedly happened in front of my house on Sunday. I was outside the entire time and saw and heard nothing. I just don’t get it. Why is Dov not offering a high reward for whoever gets the rebby who molested kids in the Satmar yeshivah into jail? This has been happening to often now, we need to install security cameras on several streets to record 24/7 so at least we can track down when the car entered and left the neighborhood, which streets he was canvasing etc.

3)To my understanding 911 was called way after 2am, what took so long to call 911?

Maybe the car had locks that can only be opened through the drivers side, ex: my car the only way to open the back doors was through the button on the drivers side door, this was a feature that the kids can’t open a door in middle driving or she didn’t fight at first since he may have had a weapon and was scared but later got the courage

As an insider with additional info, it seems that pd is leaving out crucial details to the story. Why they would be doing so is beyond me. The times, locations, details, etc are wrong.
By doing so they are getting people to question the authenticity of the story, and the family is further traumatized.
As for cameras on every block, that opens us up to too much risk. There are some things that people in our community do that they don’t want recorded.
Can you imagine someone on food stamps being questioned about the lexus he comes home with daily, or the illegal goyotes, those on disability that are seemingly active, those with handicap plaques that suddenly can walk, or someone on unemployment that comes to the same workplace daily, etc….. (Not that this really happens-just hypothetically speaking.)
We need to daven and do hishtadlus, We need to have at least 200 voulnteers to patrol our streets evrey night, or m aybee relocate to a safer area, where there is more security!

I really don’t think that people cheating the system is a valid reason not to put up cameras. I think they should be put up all over the place like Big Brother. It obviously won’t be used to give J-walkers tickets but will prove benifical in cases like this.

It works in many other places all over the world – teach self defense classes. Girls taught by women, boys taught by men. It doesn’t need to be martial arts, just basic self protection. I would highly recommend, not only to kids, but even business men & housewives – anyone nowadays could be mugged.

Her parents were not in the country. When she came home and told her parents, they took her to the hospital. It was the emergency room that called the police, hence the delay.
When I was in seminary, a frum american yeshiva bochur tried attacking me. I was taught from very young not to panick and to defend myself. And I did. I don’t think I really hurt him that bad, but it was enough to catch him off guard and scare him off. Obviously it’s a very different situation here because he wasn’t armed. But it’s important to teach children, especially girls, what to do in such situations. Although I wish it didn’t happen, I’m glad it happened to me instead of my friends because they would have totally frieked and not known what to do.

It’s very nice on paper to offer martial arts, but here in Lakewood they actually held several such events for the frum girls and women (after a similarly vicious attack) and guess what? Hardly anyone showed up!
It takes time for people to accept going to a self defence class – “It wont happen to me” they think, but prevention is better than cure. It starts with education – inform people how it will help, offer it in high schools after hours, then offer classes to the parents etc As more people become aware of it, more people will attend.

Apparently they don’t want the story out, they don’t want the guy caught, they want peace. I find it hard to believe that the girl was abducted in front of my nose, I was right there that night. In case it is true, I rest my case in aid to the family.
