In an interview with German newspaper Bild (http://bit.ly/14MyU6y) Joel Oualid, 46, says his brother, owner Patrice Oualid, 39, is recovering in the hospital from a gunshot wound to his arm, and that he, his wife and his five children will emigrate to Israel.

Joel Oualid said his brother was at the entrance of the busy store just a few hours before Shabbat when two military-clad men with guns and grenades stormed into the store. One of the terrorists, 32-year-old Amedy Coulibaly, had a camera attached to his stomach. According to Joel, his brother said Coulibaly told the hostages, “You are Jews, all of you will die today!”
Coulibaly also asked the hostages to look into the camera and “say hello to ISIS.”

Joel says his brother told the terrorists, “Do not shoot at people, I am the owner. What do you want?” The terrorist said he would shoot him, and Patrice ran out of the store.

Joel Oualid says he believes many more Jewish French citizens will leave France because they are afraid of future attacks.

I am not French but there isn’t a single Israeli who won’t welcome you & all your compatriots as Israeli citizens. Don’t wait – don’t get lulled into false security by greater police presence & things “dying down.” It WILL happen again. And again.

Sell up, give away, walk away – with no pressure we were here in 2 months. You can do it too! We are waiting for you to come home.
