Mr. Mayor – if one of your daughters were interested in breaking into acting, would you allow her to accept an offer from Bill Cosby to mentor her in private? No? Why not? He hasn’t been convicted of any crime (yet).

of course the mayor is saying that he has done a lot for the city. he Has backed his liberal agenda more specifically gay marriage. Every frum politician came out strongly against this abomination. The church begged him to stop it too.

I like DeBlasio, despite his liberal bend, he’s a people’s man. Unlike Bloomberg who was always antagonizing, pushing himself unto the people, Deblasio gives people the benefit of the doubt.

Silver will be found innocent just like Bruno guaranteed!!! I have no doubt. Anyone who knows these prosecutors knows they go for broke on high level politicians just to gain notoriety. Bruno is case in point.

“Speaking at City Hall, the mayor reminded the public that there is a difference between allegations and charges.”

As opposed to Police Officers whose charges were dropped, not indicted. They’re guilty! Ignoramus!

Shelly Silver is a politician who has shown a kiddush Hashem all his years in his behaviors as a politician. I don’t know if he is guilty or not guilty. But to all nay sayers out there, it is his liberal agenda that brought an increase in food stamps , medicaid, Yeshiva college tuition assistance and various other assistance that is helping us yidden cope in todays expensive NYC. You may not agree with him but he has done good for us.

Well said Professor. I find it fascinating that so many people can talk out of both sides of their mouths. I have NO idea whether or not he is guilty (although I know him as a wonderful person since I am a little boy) but I do know that there is a Mitzvas Asei to be dan a Jew Lkaf Zechus. That means exactly that – judge him favorably. We all know the example that our Rebbeim gave – if you see a person walk into McDonalds, L’Halacha, you MUST assume that he has a medical condition that requires him to eat immediately, or some other situation. That’s not a nice thing to do, it is a HALACHA. Why have so many people paskened that this Halacha doesn’t apply to Shelly Silver?? I pity the fools, after 120, who have applied summary judgement to ANY Jew without firsthand factual information.
