New York, NY – City Councilman David Greenfield delivered a powerful speech today in the council chamber after pro-Palestinian activists disrupted a vote on a resolution to commemorate the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.

Greenfield slammed protestors who were demonstrating against Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito’s upcoming trip to Israel in February with several council members.

“For the past few weeks we’ve heard from people who said ‘We don’t dislike Jews, we only dislike the State of Israel. We have no problem with you, we simply don’t want you to go to Israel,’ but we know that’s not really at the core of what they were saying and today they proved it,” said Greenfield.

A press release sent out by Greenfield’s office observed that activists, who were upstairs in the gallery of the city council chamber, waited 86 minutes to start their protest, deliberately timing their outburst to coincide with the passage of a resolution that would commemorate the liberation of Auschwitz.

“While we were discussing that, they had the nerve, the chutzpah, the temerity to unfurl a Palestinian flag and to yell at us while we were discussing that,” chastised Greenfield, growing increasingly emotional as he spoke. “We can stop pretending that this is about Israel when the reality is that every Middle Eastern country that is in existence today is not democratic and persecutes people of other faiths and persecutes gays and persecutes people who disagree with them and persecutes people on Twitter, and persecutes women who drive, except for one country, which is the State of Israel.”

A passionate Greenfield categorized protestors as “people who would celebrate the death of Jews rather than mourn the death of innocents,” and seemed both angered and stunned by the demonstrator’s opposition to the resolution which honored the memory of the over one million people, includes Jews, political dissidents, members of the gay community and others, who were murdered in Auschwitz.

“What you saw here today was naked, blind anti-Semitism,” said Greenfield, the grandson of Holcaust survivors. “That’s what you saw and that’s what you watched and that’s what you witnessed. People who are upset for one reason. You want to know why they’re angry? Do you want to know why they are unfurling that flag today? Because Hitler did not finish the job. He only wiped out half of my family and only by the grace of G-d is the other half, me, the grandchild, still alive today.”

Way to go Greenfield! They murder innocent jews throughout the world who have never even been to Israel. Why? Bc they hate Jews! It’s well known the grand mufti of Jerusalem met with Hitler. We all know what they were discussing. So even before the state of Israel, they were interested in killing Jews.

I may not disagree with Councilman Greenfeld politically, but his speech was very powerful. It shows a clear portrayal of the divestment movement and all their cronies, including some of the lefties in education. But, unfortunately the world is still asleep, and probably will remain so. It doesn’t effect their pocket books, and they think, why should we care? They’re only against Jews, not us Americans. The day will come. I don’t know when. They’ll wake up, but it will be to late. People, including us Jews “WAKE UP!”

What kind of security does the NYPD employ, that they would let those momzarim enter the visitor gallery, with a Palestinian flag?

At last someone with enough guts and passion to call a spade a spade! ( and wearing a yarmulke) I wish there would be more Jews in official capacity to speak out, instead of pussyfooting around and making excuses for antisemitic activities.
