New York – New York City’s roads and streets will be indefinitely closed to non-emergency vehicles from 11 p.m. EST on Monday as potentially record-breaking blizzard heads toward the city, Mayor Bill de Blasio said.

He also says all city public schools will be closed on Tuesday. After-school activities and programs scheduled for Monday also have been canceled.
De Blasio made the announcements during a weather briefing Monday. He says the street restrictions will continue until the situation is considered safe.
He said Regents exams are being canceled and will be rescheduled.

Also, the New York City Department of Transportation announced that alternate side parking regulations will be suspended Wednesday Jan. 28 to facilitate snow removal. Alternate Side Parking is already suspended Monday and Tuesday.
Payment at parking meters will remain in effect throughout the City.
Meanwhile, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie declares a state of emergency, and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo considers a travel ban for the New York City area ahead of storm that is expected to start in earnest Monday evening.
The Northeast shuts down against a snowstorm that could be one for the history books, with some 35 million people in its path in the Philadelphia-to-Boston corridor.
Snow is coming down in Philadelphia and New York, and Boston is up next in the afternoon. The worst of it is expected to hit tonight and into Tuesday, with 1 to 3 feet across much of the region.

but parking meters are in effect, sounds like we didnt get a change from bloomberg.
I wouldnt be suprised if they give out tickets for not paying the meter! I guess you will be able to fight that ticket or file a class action lawsuit.
