“Israel will not stand by as Hezbollah targets Israelis,” Israel’s U.N. Ambassador Ron Prosor said in a letter to the Security Council and Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

“Israel will not accept any attacks on its territory and it will exercise its right to self-defense and take all necessary measures to protect its population,” he added.

The attack occurred on Wednesday in the biggest escalation of fighting since a 2006 war.

Two Israeli soldiers and a Spanish peacekeeper were killed when Hezbollah fired a missile at a convoy of Israeli military vehicles at the Lebanon border. A U.N. spokesman and Spanish officials said the peacekeeper was killed as Israel responded with air strikes and artillery fire.

“Events in the north continue to unfold and Israel extends its condolences to UNIFIL and the Spanish government over the death of one of its soldiers earlier today,” Prosor said.

“I urge the Security Council to unequivocally and publicly condemn Hezbollah,” he added. “The terrorist organization must be disarmed and the government of Lebanon must abide by its international commitments and fully implement Security Council resolution 1701.”

Resolution 1701 halted the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah war in southern Lebanon. The south remains a Hezbollah stronghold.

Hezbollah said it carried out Wednesday’s attack, which appeared to be in retaliation for a Jan. 18 Israeli air strike in southern Syria that killed several Hezbollah members and an Iranian general.

Why should the UN assume that Israel should stand by and do nothing after being attacked?
Why does Israel have to report to the UN? No other country reports to the UN before it retaliate after being attacked! The French just went in to a Jihadist village in France to round up a terrorist cell planning to attack without reporting their plan to the UN! China on a daily basis exercises covert anti terrorist operations in Northwest region of Xinjiang to weed out potential terrorists and then execute them, without reporting to the UN and China is now a card carrying member of the UN. Obviously any country which is attacked or about to be attacked has every right to defend it’s citizens by taking appropriate defensive or offensive action!

As much as everyone understands now that Israel has full right to attack back just wait and see when thay do so how the whole world and specially the anti Semite Obama how thay will all b against Israel because the are attacking the poor terrorist I done understand why are the world always pro the terrorists and the rebels in other words there always pro the uncivilized and unstable crazy wild people why is that so? I think its for the same reason the American citizens voted in Obama as president which is because that don’t think sensible thay just get carried away by there feelings and therefore thay go for Obama that is just a good speaker and makes himself sound like he is gonna do who knows what even though you yourself sew he doesn’t do what he says he will but still thay voted for him again for same reason thay feel all bad for the terrorists because that know how to make them self so innocent and poor and that need money I don’t understand does world still not chap what that use all that money

To be fair yes Hezbollah deserved it. But Israel clearly started this one.

Look at Bibi he looks so refreshed when terror acts occur in Israel, looks like he just came out of the shower and drank a dark coffee. It his best hour to the world what a tough great (disgraceful) leader he is. Problem is the terror works against the campaign he is leading in clearing the Diaspora of its Jewry, but on the other hand he can use this as a pretext in evoking the sympathy from the international community so he can retaliate. Which was pays off? Bibi the propaganda minister of Jewry, please advise.
