The globe-spanning diplomat can add one more: snow shoveling scofflaw.
After a blizzard dumped two feet of snow on his city this week, Boston Mayor Martin Walsh vowed to crack down on anyone who left the sidewalks in front of their homes and businesses buried in snow.
He wasn’t kidding.
On Thursday, officials tagged Kerry with a $50 fine at 9:45 a.m. for failing to clear the snow from the side of his Beacon Hill mansion.
Kerry was in Saudi Arabia attending the funeral of King Abdullah with President Obama.
Kerry spokesman Glen Johnson told the Boston Globe Kerry will promptly pay the fine. He said shovelers finished clearing the sidewalk late Thursday morning.
The real reason was that Kerry was negotiating with two kids from his neighborhood to shovel the snow, since Kerry and his wife are too old to do it themselves.
Negotiations broke down when the kids demands 25 cents apiece and Kerry agreed to give each only a dime. The kids went on to a neighbor who paid the exorbitant fee.
When contacted Kerry was busy having his hair coiffured and refused to comment other than saying that he is will to travel anywhere to negotiate, but these little rascals are a group of terrorist thugs who will do anything to extort money from innocent Americans.
What’s $50 to Kerry??? A joke I would even pay…
While John Kerry is getting the red carpet treatment in Saudia Arabia his townsfolk back home are getting the slippery ice treatment outside his mansion.
Penny wise pound foolish!!
Cost me more than $50 to get it cleaned. I should have just left it and paid the ticket. Would have been cheaper.
Kerry was too busy shoveling something else.
We should take up a collection for him and also for the taxes that he avoided paying on his yacht by registering it in Rhode Island instead of his home state. Maybe he needs to find a richer wife?
#1. Great post!
