The tiny berry is originally from West Africa. It contains a special protein that coats the taste buds of the tongue, changing the way things taste. Scientists are studying it—hoping it can be used on a wide scale to help people eat healthier.
Right now, the berries are used in ‘Flavor Tripping Parties’ where people eat a berry—and taste all kinds of oddities. Attendees say vinegar will taste like syrup—and hot sauce becomes a delicious elixir. Radishes and beer are also commonly sampled while under the influence of the miracle fruit.
Interested? You can find the little berries online, at http://www.miraclefruitman.com

If this berry makes people healthier, can I squirt the juice out of this fruit, directly onto my paycheck? A fatter paycheck is what I need! I tried it with the goji fruit, but it didnt work. But I still BELIEVE.

IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A JUICE WITH REAL RESEARCH BEHIND IT, GET POMEGRANTE JUICE.
IT WAS TESTED BY THE WEITZMAN INSTITUTE IN ISRAEL AND FOUND TO BE A VERY EFFECTIVE ANTIOXIDANT THAT ALSO LOWERS CHOLESTROL.

This article says nothing about the healthyness of the fruit, the only good thing about it is that it makes everything sweet. Sorry $120 for thirty berries is a little too much to spend right now.
p.s. go buy it fast before they come out that you cant eat it because it has worms...

This has nothing to do with "health" or "wealth", it's just an interesting type of fruit that makes everything "taste" sweeter, so perhaps it's the spoonfull of sugar "for" the medicine, not "the" medicine itself.

I agree on POMEGRANTE and I have some respect for it, being that its mentioned so many times in the Torah.

No, this is not another goji. Nobody is making any health claims for it, and nobody is recruiting people to sell it.
I've known about this for years. I've never tried it myself but I know people who have, and it works exactly as described - you chew a berry and then you bite into a lemon and it tastes sweet. It doesn't make the lemon any healthier, it won't cure what ails you, and it won't make you rich, but it does increase your dessert options.

Milhouse- are you implying that a Sephardic individual can now have gifilte fish (for desert no less!)and they will think they are eating sufganiot? ( Wasn't the manna supossed to look like coriander but taste like anything you wanted it to?)

Murray, yes, and I have wondered whether the mon contained a similar chemical to the one that gives miracle fruit this property. (Note, though, that the fruit itself is not sweet, it's tasteless, but it makes your mouth think that everything you eat until it wears off is sweet. Also note that the mon could produce many non-sweet flavours, while miracle fruit causes only sweetness.)

You should be aware that while the fruit makes anything "taste" sweet, the heat of a spice food will still burn your mouth. So be careful

So to sum it up- its uses are 1. a novelty/parlor trick, or 2. way to get the kids to eat their brussel sprouts., like in Mary Poppins " a teaspoon of sugar helps the medicine go down"
