    WJZ-TV reports (http://cbsloc.al/1vHy3jv ) that Barry Freundel, who pleaded guilty to 52 counts of voyeurism and admitted to secretly videotaping women in the changing room of a ritual bath in a Washington synagogue for years, turned in his resignation letter to Towson University on Thursday.

    Freundel was an adjunct professor at both Towson and Georgetown universities.

    His resignation is effective March 27.‎

    If he pleaded guilty then it’s not a case of “Rabbi Accused Of Videotaping Women” it’s “Rabbi Who Videotaped Women”.

    First off, the headline is wrong, this guy is not “accused,” he is “convicted.” Second off, this is really not news. I presume he is no longer associated with a lot of groups that once welcomed him.

    Nebech this once well respected ruv, has brought shame to the rabbinate and himself. This is on the list of the biggest rabbinical scandals in 2000 years. RL

    The photograph of this ruined man, forever the object of disgust and derision and self disgust, stripped of human fellowship and parnassah, is a mussar haskeil. The man is sitting shiva on himself.
