That’s one friendly reminder New York City bus riders will see in advertisements sponsored by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority starting Monday. It’s part of a courtesy campaign that began underground on ads throughout city subway cars.
The tips include what some might call common sense.
Step aside to let others off first. Take your pack off your back. And don’t clip your nails on the bus, please.
One ad says: “Offer your seat to an elderly, disabled, or pregnant person. Not only is it the right thing to do, but you’ll make your grandmother proud.”
The MTA says it’s trying to address common complaints from riders. More than 2.5 million people ride the city’s buses every day.
AND when a pregnant or old gets on and your getting off the next stop, jump to offer your seat do Mr Nice Guy doesn’t offer his and stand for the next 20 stops
These ads have been out for a while now. The most disgusting thing I find on the subway (and there are many of them) are people clipping their nails. These are not the homeless / drunks / druggies that stink the carriage out – everyone knows to avoid them. But regular people going to work – and then they pull out a nail clipper and clip their nails all over the place. Disgusting.
