The city says that accounts for half the administration’s goal of 70,000.
The Daily News (http://nydn.us/1EIGICR ) reports the figure is more than double the nearly 16,000 children who enrolled during the same period last year.
The city says wider awareness of the program was the reason more families were signing up.
The city is publicizing it through print, radio and subway ads.
The full-day program for 4 year olds is in its second year.
Families have until April to enroll.
