Jerusalem – Watch: Technion Students Recreate Passover Story With Robots

    Jerusalem – Students at Israel’s Technion-Israel Institute of Technology prepared for Passover, the festival of freedom, by letting their imaginations run wild, using robots to tell the Passover story.

    Watch closely as this Rube Goldberg Machine demonstrates plagues and miracles from the story of Passover, complete with baby Moses in the basket, the burning bush, the Jews asking the Pharaoh to “LET MY PEOPLE GO!,” and of course, all ten plagues.

    The machine was created by a team of students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering joined by students from the faculty of Architecture and Town Planning.

    In order to pull off two of the dramatic stunts, they sought help from several labs in the Schulich Faculty of Chemistry, working day and night to build the machines.

    The film was directed by Shoot East and filmed in the Sydney & Shirley Gendel and Emanuel Friedberg Family Creative Design Student Laboratory in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
