In the article (http://theatln.tc/1yOIwvq), Cameron says there is a fine line between anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism as attempts to “delegitimize” the state of Israel can morph into anti-Semitism. Cameron says leaders shouldn’t stand by at others attempt to delegitimize a UN recognized democracy, and that one can disagree with Israel’s policies, but that it’s never a reason to “take that out on Jewish communities.”

Cameron says he understands why Jewish communities would contemplate leaving anywhere their safety is threatened by Islamist extremism, but he feels that when anyone is questioning “is it safe here,” the prime minister believes that they’re not focusing on Britain.

He says his country tackles anti-Semitism in addition to highlighting the contributions of the Jewish community in Great Britain.

He says the rising, or “new” anti-Semitism in Europe is not the traditional anti-Semitism, and that the new threat against Jews is on a higher level. In the face of this, Cameron feels his country has been taking the necessary steps to help the Jewish community protect themselves and target hatred, violence and incitement.

Ironically, Britain expelled all of its Jews by royal edict in 1290.
