Since the establishment of Education and Sharing Day, which occurs on the Rebbe’s birthday, every President has issued an annual Proclamation marking “Education and Sharing Day, USA”.

This year’s Education and Sharing Day Proclamation acknowledges the emphasis Rabbi Schneerson placed on the education of girls, noting: “In an era where a woman’s education was not valued the same as a man’s, the Rebbe worked to tear down barriers that stood in the way of girls who wanted to learn.”

In addition to issuing an annual proclamation, every President since the establishment of Education and Sharing Day has invited a delegation from the Chabad-Lubavitch movement into the Oval Office.

The delegation included the leadership of American Friends of Chabad-Lubavitch, Rabbis Abraham and Levi Shemtov; Rabbi Yossy Gordon from Chabad on Campus; Rebbetzin Chave Hecht, a pioneers in girls’ education who has been teaching for more than 70 years; and Menachem Benjaminson and Chaya Goldstein, two children who are leaders in Chabad-Lubavitch children’s service organization, the Jewish Children’s Corps.

President Obama presented the nine-person delegation with a framed, commemorative copy of this year’s proclamation, which was signed on March 31, 2015, noting his appreciation for the Rebbe’s lifetime of work and recognizing that education is among many shared Jewish and American values – values that have shaped and strengthened his own connection to the Jewish community.

The President called combating rising anti-Semitism a moral obligation and emphasized that he will continue to raise the issue with other world leaders.

Finally, the delegation recited the blessing typically made upon meeting a head of state and presented the President with a menorah bearing an inscription, which reads in part:

Mr. President, you represent the middle flame, which stands on a higher plane, dedicated in service to others and the greater good, carrying the dreams and aspirations of an entire nation upon your shoulders.

Why wouldn’t he meet the representatives of the whole Jewish people, and not one little group who don’t recognize any of their brothers Jews and neither represent us?
He could’ve invited Naturey Karta for the same price!

YEA! They should have invited neturei karta instead of chabad! You seem so smart!

Chabad is actually the ONLY group who will take responsibility, for any jew anywhere. there is no other jewish group that does that. everyone else i worried about themselves, and about their own children. occasionally selflessness is rewarded and when that happens all the selfish people like yourself come out and complain that they aren’t getting recognized…..

Why does the chabad call themselves chabad? Wouldn’t it be better calling them chadab? Binah is not before Da’at as Understanding must have knowledge first. Could this be something that we must address in the future as we hope for a better Jewish world. If they are mixed up in their Torah order of Values in their pledge to Hashem, then we might have many problems. That does not mean they should be replaced, but maybe their monicker should be adjusted. That is my take as a Torah Student. I do not think that an organization that goes out of order on its blessings can be true to all Torah better wishes for a Torah community. And myself I am no longer participating in their community. Think about this.

No need to bash Chabad, but what is the average Chabadnik saying about President Obama at home? How many people are making racist remarks about him? Chabad uses the president for publicity and fund raising while in private ridiculing him.

    # 11 – you sound high or deranged. Sober up

    # 12 – how the heck do you know what ANYBODY says about Obama at home??!
How do you besmirch an entire movement by your racist projections.
What you are really saying is that you know that Chabad (and other orthodox and non liberal groups) are surely maligning people at home.
Probably what you do around your dinner table

    To 11:
Your comment is quite comical as it demonstrates a complete lack of understanding in the definition of daat (I safely assume in chochma and bina as well). Get back to the study bench and then release your statements.
May G-d bless the people of Chabad and all Jews everywhere

Chabad does exceptional work on behalf of our brothers and sisters throughout the world. They actively practice Ahavas Yisroel. Their efforts in Nepal is but one example of their good work. It is significant and important that Chabad met with President Obama. Any effort to promote education, Jewish education especially ,is a positive accomplishment. Further, it is crucial, given the problem of the relationship with the government in Israel and the prevalence of secular Jews that the president seems to encounter most, that he maintain a good relationship with a religious Jewish group. Kol Hakovad to Chabad.

President is also meeting with them for he needs them to continue voting for the democrats and backing him in the Iran treaty, and other declarations and treaties that are coming up. His love for Jews and Israel is quite obvious.

Torah is not a bad dream. If you like the day, ask Hashem for assistance. Time says life evolves.

Time is on Israels side. I am not sure if it supports a name that is written wrong.
    ChaBaD should be ChaDaB.

First of all, this is the first pro- chabad article posted on VIN, so cheers to that.

Second, dearest Mr. Anonymous, some of our strongest Litvisher Rabonim and Roshei Yeshivos learned/ learn Tanya without publicizing it, do your research and you will see I’m right. Let’s see you go up against them.
Also, what are you blabbering about in reference to switching something? Did you once listen to a Shiur and not understand it and decided to crusade against Chabad? Because clearly you don’t understand the concepts.

And once you figure yourself out, go try to find less than one out of three people who have been helped/ know someone that have been helped by chabad.

    Hatzlacha!

Thanks Mr Anonymous for revealing yourself- one who has not learned much about Chabad but is still lashing out against it.
And I’ll reveal that I haven’t either learned so much about Chabad, but enough to try to explain.
Chochma is the first flash of a concept in one’s brain. When looking back, they cannot trace where it came from, etc- it’s the very first level of ‘brain activity’.
Binah is the begining process of the brain forming that into a concept, without much detail- understanding it in its simplicity.
Daat is having a real knowledge if this flash, forming it into a real though, one that you completely grasp- to the extent that you can share it with another.
