Brooklyn, NY - A burglar was arrested after he told police that he got drunk at a bar mitzvah and woke up at the crime scene.

Alen Ildatov, 22, allegedly shattered a window at a Jewish community center on Ocean Parkway near Avenue "S" in Gravesend.

Ildatov climbed inside and swiped two toolboxes belonging to a contractor doing work at the facility.

Minutes later, he ran into a cop nearby and said he had passed out at the center after a party.

He was charged with burglary and criminal mischief.

It's the old "blame it on the drinks" trick.

and the whole "drunk" defense, is a crock. If a husband beat his wife and children every time he was drunk, does he get away with it? No.

Did anyone put a gun to this man's head, and demand for him to drink? It was his own decision to drink excessively, and irresponsibly. Now he has to pay the price. I'm just thankful he didn't get behind the wheel...

you're responsible for your actions, whether you "remember" committing the crime or not.

Besides, he isn't a little kid, he's 22 years old, he should know better.

When are people going to start taking responsibilities for their actions, instead of always blaming it on EVERYTHING else?

Grow up!
