The man, identified as Dave Ellis, jumped into the river to help Eli Heilpern, 28, out of the water after Heilpern lost control of the bike on a bumpy section and fell in, reports the London Evening Standard (http://bit.ly/1JsIUSE).

Heilpern’s friends tried to get him out, but struggled until Ellis jumped in the water to assist them.

Heilpern was recovering at home Sunday evening and suffered only minor injuries.

Shulem Stern a friend of Hailpern, said that he and his friend were trying to track down the Good Samaritan after his heroic rescue to thank him.
