It only takes a second to look away & a baby can slip under the water. How is the child doing?

All parents and childcare workers should have to take a CPR/Rescue Breathing course. Accidents happen, what you do after the accident makes a big difference.

the baby is now fine, b'h, and is home in bed, after a whole night of intensive care at the hospital.
B'h, my husband and I heard the mother's screaming and immediately ran to her house. The baby was blueish and my husband gently turned the baby on its stomache and pumped the baby's stomache but the baby didn't move. My husband again pumped the baby's stomache a little harder and about a gallon of water came out of the baby's mouth and nose, b'h. Just then the Hatzalah angels showed up and took the baby to the hospital.

Just a quick note to all parents and guardians:
Do not look away for 1 second from your child who is in the tub. A child can drown even in shallow water. The child should be supervised from the second they go in the tub, till you bring them out.
I'm not saying this is what happened. Chash Veshalom I would ever think the worst when something like this happens, I just thought i would mention a few safety facts that some parents are not aware of.
I hope the baby recovers quickly, without any long term damages. I hope the family can celebrate a very Happy shabbos together! My prayers are with the baby and family. May all go well.

I completely agree to the fullest. I believe all parents and guardians should be knowledgeable in first aid and cpr. Studies have shown the faster someone gets cpr, or the heimlich maneuver, the greater the chance of survival.
Please parents, get the training you need. If you don't have the money for professional classes, have someone you know is very knowledgeable in this field teach you for free.

You hear many stories where even older children 8-9 year olds that take bath themselves have fallen asleep in the tub. When the water is very hot it makes one very drowsey. Parents are warned to be very careful durring bath time.

Why don't you and your husband take a CPR course and then if you ever need it ch'vs you will know what to do. You just lucked out this time. Ayn somchin al hanais!

this is the baby's mother. 1rst of all thank you guys for your support and for the rest of you, i want to wish that you will never be tested like this in your life. i love my kids very much and i admit i made a mistake. thank g-d i learnt CPR in high school. as soon as i saw the baby, i called 911 and began CPR. a great boy by the name of daniel kherdnam who is part of the EMT and was standing right outside my house trieng to get into his car. it's min ha shamaim that he was there at the right time and place and heard my screams. as i was doing CPR on my baby, he opened his eyes but he was still not breathing. i heard the door knoks, i ran with my baby to the door and handed him to daniel. he did also heard the deep breaths from the baby and did CPR again. that's when the water came out of his mouth and he started breathing again. after 5 minutes the baby was breathing just fine and everything was ok. i was informed that he had to be observed in the hospital even though he was ok. they did some X-rays and observed him and saw that he was just fine. few hours later, we were home with the baby that i almost lost. once again, thank you for those who were understanding and compationate to my situation. and to the rest i once more say, may you never be in my shoes, so no one would misjudge you as you did to me. G-d knows how much i care about my kids and try to take care of them. anything else doesnt matter.
