New York City - Largest Benefactor Of Discretionary Funding From Mayor Bloomberg Was Given To Simcha Felder |

In the memo, Deputy Mayor Edward Skyler details who received discretionary funding from the administration, including past and present council members. After the jump, there is a list of members and how much he or she received from the administration since fiscal year 2003.
This year, the mayor did not hand out any discretionary funding.
According to the memo, the administration is working with the Department of Investigation to ensure none of the funds were misappropriated.
So far, the memo says, about 1,600 groups have applied to qualify for discretionary funds for this year’s budget, which includes a more strenuous vetting process than pre-council slush fund scandal. Of those, 1,000 have completed the process to date.
Here is who got what of the mayor’s money:
Councilmember Simcha Felder: $5.7 million
Former Councilmember Dennis Gallagher: $642,499
Former Councilmember Martin Golden: $205,000
Former Councilmember Andrew Lanza: $1.68 milion

I think a lot of it went to satmar. truth be told, the jewish community has a lot more social services that the others & that can be the simple reason why simcha got the most.

The question is not what did felder do with it, the question is why didn't we come out and vote for felder?
I did, my guess is you didn't.

This is news thats too late. For all those that asked what did Felder do for us, now you know. The money was given to many of the local organizations that help people daily, including: Mekimi, Hatzolah, Shomrim, Chaveirim, and others.
And now that our community did not vote for Felder, where will the funds come from???

this is old hack being used by the gothamgazzette to smear whoever they can once again/ this report was out months ago
FELDER streamlined the process for the organazations nudging him for support so his district had many more applications than others
satmar did not get that much (approx 250G)which was mainly for the food campaign before pesach
the list of donations is public & fair

Gelt comes from Hashem, not Simcha Felder nor Michael Bloomberg. Simcha was a puppet of Bloomberg as "Baal Hameah Baal Hadeah" and that is why he lost. Bloomberg + Simcha = higher taxes.

What about local, fledgling, grass roots organizations that can't help as many people as they need because they don't have funding? As a grantwriter, I see big organizations walking away with the big bucks, much of which is spent on administrative costs & nice offices. But the small social services orgainzation that helps the Almoneh on your corner is working out of someone's dining room...THEY should be getting funding!
Some of my clients have multi-million dollar budgets. Others are barely scraping it together to pay the phone bill. Who needs it more? That's hard to say, but I can tell you this...the "mom & pop" organizations are also doing great work. The Simcha Felders may not get the kudos, the awards, or the honors from these small & financially strapped organizations, but so what? They fulfill their missions every day.
It's not WHAT you know, it's WHO you know. And I should know!!

Now stuff is starting to make a lot of sense. Simcha I must say you did the right thing by voting for Congestion Pricing. This is called an elected official that thinks about his community.
Simcha I know you have one more year in office do the best you could for the district.

Simcha Felder was a great leader? What a JOKE?
1) He has voted YES for congestion pricing.
2) Oh yes! Busy with pigeon droppings
3) Simcha Felder since when are you a council member from Williamsburg? By staying neutral you would have gotten 100% of Boro Park, you get involved with UJCare now you lost it!
4) UJCare $200,000? Is that in Boro Park?
He is already a corrupted politician.

Rabosei, don't you see the Yad Hashem at work here. If we don't give "Masser" the government will take our money and give it to the Mosdos. Support the chshuva mosdos in our community and I guarantee you - better yet the Ribono Shel Olam - guarantees you lose anything. You'll get it all back, maybe even through some sort of rebate from the government. Now wont that be ironic!

-------------------------
First of all he is not was.
1)Voted for Congestion Pricing cause he new that it won't pass by Shelly Silver and he did very smart. The community got paid in return.
3 & 4)Satmar - UJ Care represents all of Satmar from Orange County to everywhere in Brooklyn. Last time I checked most of Boro Parker Satmar belong to Monroe and UJ Care represents them. Again Felder serves his district.
Stam gevorfen "He is already a corrupted politician." What makes him corrupted? He brings & serves his district? You don't have to agree with everything he does, but overall the past 7 years he was the only elected official that represents Boro Park that served everyone no matter where you lived.
