The company announced Monday that it will withdraw completely from the county on July 31.
Uber had previously agreed to withdraw from the airport and port in Broward County, hoping to persuade commissioners not to institute new regulations. Those rules include requiring each driver to obtain a county chauffeur registration, a car permit and background check.
Uber released a statement saying the new rules raise substantial barriers for their drivers and make it impossible for the company to continue operating in the area.
The South Florida Sun Sentinel (http://goo.gl/JdpToA ) reports that Uber will still operate in Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties.
They guarantee great pay, why do these counties act as governments and steel fron the hard working. Why do they hate large corporations?
This is a good day for hard working and law abiding citizens. Any company that open ignores laws should be penalized. If they can’t afford to abide by the laws, then how are all the legitimate companies doing it?
