Washington - Trump Polling Into 1St Place Among Republicans, Struggles Against Hilary Clinton
Washington, D.C. – According to a USA Today/Suffolk University Poll, Donald Trump is leading in the GOP race, but his efforts are stilted when up against Hilary Clinton.
Trump is the weakest competitor amid the top seven GOP candidates against Democrat Clinton, according to USA Today (http://usat.ly/1M9eyXM ).
In a hypothetical head-to-head against Clinton, Bush is the strongest candidate against her with the nation polling 46 percent to 42 percent, just four points. Trump lags by 17 points in 51 percent to 34 percent.
Almost half of those surveyed, 48 percent, said Trump’s immigration comments matter a lot to their vote.
Trump currently leads at 17 percent among in the GOP race, and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush is at 14 percent. The survey of 1,000 adults, taken by landline and cellphone Thursday through Sunday, has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
