Montreal, Canada - No Referendum on Bobov Synagogue Project |

Montreal, Canada - There will be no referendum on whether a Hasidic sect in the Plateau Mont Royal borough should be given the green light for a $400,000 project to renovate its synagogue at 5363 Hutchison St., in the midst of a residential neighbourhood.
Only 81 local residents signed a registry at the borough council headquarters to oppose the Gate David of Bobov project, far short of the 133 signatures required to force a referendum.
The council approved the project Sept. 2.

It's good to hear that beside some individuals who are driven by a hateful agenda, the [general] population has a sense of fairness. The most vocal opponents to the expansion of the Bobov Shul do not even live in the immediate vicinity.

Rabbi Mayer Feig from the jewish council is a BOBOV Chussid and he worked very hard on getting it thus far and by monday they should get the permit to start building. and i urge to all vosizneas viewers to donate money for this cause and stand up against anti semitism i hope someone can provide me with an address to send a check for this new building fund
