Petah Tikva, Israel - Mayoral Candidate Promises More Stores Selling Pork and Transportation on Shabbat |
|
Borshevsky, a council member on behalf of Yisrael Beiteinu, promises to allow the opening of stores selling pork in the city center and to operate public transportation on Shabbat.
And how does he plan to reach the mayor's office in order to carry out these reforms? With the help of the religious residents, he says.
"I have excellent relations with the city's religious and haredi residents," he states. "They will be in my coalition which will maintain a balance.
"I am certain and believe that the entire public in the city from all streams should be respected, and I believe this should all be done in mutual agreement. However, it's unthinkable that people want to travel somewhere on Shabbat and are not allowed to do so."
According to Borshevsky, one of the reasons which prompted him to run for mayor was that "the culture here is about talking more and doing less, so in practice nothing is done.
"I'm not one of those who talk a lot, but rather one of those who do more," he says.
"There's no reason to be afraid of me. I keep saying that a little order hasn't killed anyone. I'll clean up all parts of the city so that things are equal for everyone. Inflexibility helps make decisions."
"I'm not only thinking about my chance of winning; I really believe I can win. The first round will be difficult, but I'll win the second round. I'm not only relying on the Russian-speaking residents, but on everyone. "If I'm disqualified over my country of origin and not elected because of that, then there is a serious problem in the State of Israel and it must be fixed," he said.

More proof that the "State" of Israel is not the new Malchus Yisroel. There will be many who will be disturbed that pork is sold in a "Jewish" city or that there will be chilul shabbos. There will be and the state has no say in the matter. The Knesset is not the mashgiach of klal yisroel. It's unfortunate the there are yidden who eat pork and do not keep shabbos, this cannot be legislated away. We are still in golus and the State of Israel has not brought us closer to the geulah, in fact the opposite.

A Jewish country is not some happy demographic accident. There needs to be seed change in the Israeli public. As long as the Jewishness of the Democratic State of Israel is dictated by population then why should the laws favor one ethnic group over another? Only when the State is understood as being homeland in all aspects including the enbodiment of Jewish values and sensibilities in its institutions and law do public observance of Shabbat and prohibitions on the sale of "white steak" make sense and are proper.
Sadly the problem is a lack of will to be a Jewish nation in its homeland and not merely "a free people in our land Zion and Jerusalem"

...And while he (Mr.Genady Borshevsky) is at it, let him make sure that russian neo-nazis don't beat up Yeshiva Bochurim and stop burning Shuls and other mayhem in and around Petach Tikvah! He must be very naive to think that he can pass legislation permitting the sale of pork and activating the mass transit system on Shabbos. All with the help of the Religious parties!!!

how do you know? Had Hashem revealed to you how the process of geula will take place ?
A few questions for you to ponder:
-In Sefer Melachim we learn about melachim that were oved avoda zora. was that not malchus ? should we change the name of the sefer ?
- In the past 100 years Hashem fulfilled many of the great promises of the geula processs. Returned us the Eretz Israel, made the land fruitful, kibutz goluyos, returned us to yerushalyim. are all these great miracles nothing ?
- maybe hashem has a plan of bringing the geula that doesnt fit exactly with how you imagine it.
Let's be thankful for everything we've seen and let's do our part to help the situation in eretz israel
