The suspected attacker, Yishai Schlissel, was arrested at the pride parade the previous day, after he brandished a knife and stabbed six people. The court extended his arrest by 12 days as the investigation against him continues, police spokeswoman Luba Samri said.

Schlissel was convicted of a similar attack that wounded several people at a gay pride parade in Jerusalem in 2005. Schlissel had been released from prison just three weeks ago after serving his sentence.

Israeli hospital officials said Friday that a 16-year-old girl remained in critical condition after the attack, with wounds to her chest and shoulder. Three others are in hospital but their conditions are not life threatening, while the remaining two have been discharged, hospital officials said.

The Gay Pride Parade was proceeding as planned with party music, Israeli flags and rainbow-clad marchers wending their way through central Jerusalem’s barricaded streets, under a heavy police presence, when the attacker entered the throng of people. Within seconds he raised a knife and began stabbing people in the back.

Police pounced on him and arrested him. The crowd’s carefree cheers suddenly gave way to screams.

Condemnations poured in against the attack, including from ultra-Orthodox leaders.

Sixty seven Arab murderers in cold blood were released last year for no reason but a Jew who stands up for yiddishkeit like pinchus will get life in jail. This is assimilated Israeli injustice

VIN – two wrongs do not make a right. Please stop calling this the “Gay Pride” march. It is a parade of toeva. Sodomy is just as anti Torah as stabbing people is.

#1 Sadly, you’re from the handful on this site not ashamed of your yiddishkeit and write all your posts like a true Jew. Unfortunately, the authority in Israel are from the 98% who have no yirat Shamayim (Heavenly fear) and officially authorize the Chillul Hashem (desecration of Hashem’s name) parade.
Yes, in a G-dless country Arab murderers and terrorists go through a revolving door prison while Jews, even the innocent ones, languish for years and years.

People, let us not forget that chilul Shabbos is a far greater aveira than mishkav zochor. Do you condone stabbing every mehalle shabbos be pardehessia?. This inane hatred for meshkvay zochor always astounds me. Also, since when is any yid allowed to give chayav misa on his own? It is unheard of. This is a sick deranged man, and does not represent anything Jewish other than his costume. He belongs in an insttution for life. Obviously, I too am appalled that this “parade” could take place in Ear Hakodesh, but to say that everyone marching in it deserves death is in itself insane.

The Torah is the primary source for Jewish views on homosexuality. It states that: ” A man shall not lie with another man as he would with a woman, it is a תועבה toeva (“abomination”)” (Leviticus 18:22).
Like many similar commandments, the stated punishment for willful violation is the death penalty, (although in practice rabbinic Judaism no longer believes it has the authority to implement death penalties.)

To mayer alter. The sin of male homosexuality is even more severe than murder in jewish law. Ask any Rav who knows his stuff not some open orthodox rabbah.

One important observation. Reb schlissel came out of prison on parshas pinchus. It should tell us something of Divine providence.

Is it lost on some of these commenters who actually seem as if they are actually in support of this event that a 16 year old girl is still in critical condition after the stabbing? What if this was your child?

This is a sick man with a sick passion who needs to be prosecuted his crimes its that simple. No relation nor judgement to the community he is from and no connection to anything in the Torah. His behavior is representative of only himself and will have to answer to this court and the one in heaven. As comparison to him as Pinchas is chillul hashem of the highest order and any attempt to justify his actions will make its writer complicit in this aveirah.

How do people compare this violent lunatic murderer to Pinchas?! Did he see too men have sex with each other in pubic and he went to stop it. All these people did was rallying to express their distorted views. You might be offended call it disgusting, but where does it say that they’re Chayav Misa for that….

I read all these posts in praise of this lunatic on religious grounds and I can’t help but wonder if we will engage in beheading next.

Note how posters 36 & 37 protest so vigorously at the accusation that reprobates such as they happen to be insecure closet homosexuals. The hatred they so freely spew is a סימן that they may very well engage in משכב זכר (perhaps with each other), and are lamely attempting to conceal their dreaded secret with a false display of outrage. For the better part, well adjusted heterosexuals are aware that this תועבה has always existed, and no amount of vicious fulminating against such חוטאים will get rid of them at this time. The insecure closet gays, such as 36 & 37 on the other hand, feel a psychotic need to conceal their ‘deep secret’ through their vicious invectives of others who sin in the same manner as they do. That is why such sexual deviates complain so vociferously, or in Shakespeare’s words, “Methinks the lady dost protest too much.”
