Jerusalem – Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem Aryeh Stern visited the victims of the stabbing attack at the capital’s gay pride march, denouncing the assault as “totally contrary to the Torah.”

“This is a day for prayer for the injured and for unity,” Stern said at Hadassah-University Medical Center in Jerusalem’s Ein Kerem where the victims of Thursday’s attack are being treated.
“The person that committed this sinful act is a criminal in every way, and his intention to kill Jews is something that is terrifying. Differences of opinion and dispute are legitimate and will continue, but raising one’s hand against one’s fellow is forbidden,” he said.
Stern added that the religious community “does not and will not tolerate such acts,” and that “people who believe in the fear of Heaven are very distant from these deeds.”
Senior United Torah Judaism MK Moshe Gafni also spoke out strongly against the attacker, Yishai Schlissel.
“The Torah of the Jewish people is the Torah of life and the value of life is above everything,” the haredi lawmaker said.
“The attempt to kill and injure is something severe that we utterly reject and is something that is opposed by Judaism, morality, Jewish law and our path since we have been a people,” he said.

This is a terrible tragedy. How can you mock a rabbi for speaking out against a rasha. If the way you feel is that it’s ok for one jew to stab another for just being where they are not supposed to be. I sincerely hope he does not read your loshon hara about rabbis or you will be next
#1 & 3. You have to be kidding. Caring for an injured human being isn’t supporting their lifestyle. The Torah is clearly against an act, not the person. Learn to have some compassion. That is more the Torah way.
How much ransom money will these rabbis get from Natabyahu to sound empathetic, so Natanyahu can tell the world that Judaism doesn’t suffer from mainstream extremism? Let’s be real, majority of rabbis who have control over their communities tacitly support violence against gays or burning Arab babies. If they would care or if they would sincerely be outraged by kosher violence, we would hear more prominent rabbis speak out. Judging by the silence ….

Now you know why we have so many suicides. It’s because of people who don’t accept gay children. I’ve been married for 45 years. Whether my gay Frum neighbors have sex or get married will not effect my marriage at all and it won’t force me to become gay. Two of my friends’ kids killed themselves last week. Why? Because the community ostracized them. These suicides never are published.
This poor girl wasn’t even gay and she was just supporting her gay friends!!!! And many posters here are condoning this stabbing!!!!
