The Hadassah Medical Center also announced that her family has agreed to donate her organs.

Six people were stabbed at the annual Jerusalem Gay Pride Parade on Thursday by an ultra-Orthodox man who perpetrated a similar stabbing at the 2005 march.

Yishai Schlissel, of Modi’in Illit, was released from prison several weeks ago after serving 10 years in prison for his last attack, which wounded three people.

“I saw an ultra-Orthodox man stabbing everyone in his way,” Shai Aviyor, a witness, told Channel 2. “We heard people screaming, everyone ran for cover, and there were bloodied people on the ground.”

Police and medics said the attacker wounded six people.

The procession of thousands – which started at Independence Park in downtown Jerusalem shortly after 6:30 p.m. – was heading down Keren Hayesod Street when Schlissel lunged into the crowd, wildly stabbing the victims before being tackled by police. As police arrested him and cordoned off the crime scene, including all traffic on the major thoroughfare, Magen David Adom paramedics tended to the wounded before transferring them to the hospital.

Following the attack, the Judea and Samaria Police District said they were not required to track Schlissel following his release, even though he lives in their jurisdiction, because he committed his crime in Jerusalem.

Jerusalem District Police chief Moshe Edri said police didn’t have concrete intelligence that Schlissel was in attendance at the parade.

“We were prepared for every scenario, but our perimeter was breached,” he said. “This is a severe incident, and we will investigate to find out what caused this breach.”

If this guy wants to act like a Palestinian, they should turn him over to the Palestinians and let them teach him a lesson in Islamic justice

A very sad day for Bnai Yisrael.
Have we learned nothing in 2000 years?
Yes it was a deranged psycho, but we still need to think long and hard about what our religious objective is, and promote Ahavas Yisrael above all.

Hope this will discourage these abominable parades once and for all. It’s a Jewish country after all and such parades should not have been authorized in the first place.

While the idiotic chief rabbis take the blame for a lunatic and the gay wierdos look to blame the religious the only one responsible is Mickey Rosenfeld. The police knew that the lunatic Shlissel was on the loose. They knew he hunts and stabs gays but they kept no eyes on him. Did Mickey go to visit the victims in the hospital ??? There should be a demonstration against Mickey Mouse and his ilk.

Police are to blame. They could have prevented this death. Where see the demonstrations against the police chief???? Down with Mickey!!!

while I don’t endorse this action why is no one talking about the parade itself completely insensitive to the very large charaidi population in Jerusalem. would they have a parade like this in downtown Nazareth or Nablus? The normal world doesn’t expect this kind of parades from Jews in their “Jewish” State. Israel has from long been on a self destructive path.

When the mourning is over, and when the emotions begin to calm, it would be nice to hear a discussion of whether there should be an age restriction on participation in these ‘sexuality’ events. Personally, I feel these public events should totally forbidden, but for those who are willing to permit them, I would like to hear at what age they want to encourage children to begin to participate. Years ago, the rhetoric claimed that all this perversion was a –private– issue between consenting –adults–, but the murder of this minor is just one indication that the perverts are involving minors in public.

This should be openly and publicly discussed, in a mature responsible thoughtful way among the perverts in a way normal people can observe and listen. I imagine that many of the ‘normals’ have been giving the perverts a pass out of a “be-nice” “live-and-let-live” attitude. Maybe over time what will sway them from sitting on the fence will be an understanding of their recruitment and grooming techniques, and at what age they target ‘potentials’.

First of all, Baruch Dayan HaEmes. Secondly, I would like to extend my condolences to the family–especially me being what they are calling Chareidi.
The Torah says that those who commit this “abomination” shall be put to death–by a Bais Din/Sandhedrin—not a deranged individual who decided that it was his job to play judge and jury.

It’s only different in degree…. but if someone in Meah Shearim doesn’t like what a young girl is wearing, he bleaches her….. or, if a soldier comes into his neighborhood, he attacks him…. all okay???? All in the name of religion????

There are many -613 – laws ,mitzvos in the torah some impossible to follow ,some have been explained, modified etc by the talmudic rabbis in the gemora. We don’t do all of the 613 mitzvos as they are written. There is no reason to use the word toava-today as it by itself promotes hatred and loathing of fellow jews We don’t go after sabbath desecrators that the torah says -death penalty for that. also. If the extreme speech would stop so would the marches.

    this is a tragedy.
Number one, the Jerusalem city hall shares responsibility for this.
Number two, the police knew this nut case was running around, share responsibility.
Number three, the gay community knew that in Jerusalem this is provocative and they share responsibility.
Number four, the Israeli media who push such perverts as righteous people share responsibility.
Number five, the parents of this girl did not seem to emphasize that she should grow up normal and stay away from the perverts.
Number six,the psychopath who knife everyone also shares responsibility, but should stand trial in a court of law together with numbers one, two three, four and five.

What is the background of Yishai Shlissel. Does anybody know who is he, other than he’s ultra orthodox.

Calm down everyone, the guy obviously has mental issues. It’s obvious to every normal person that what he did is a huge chilul Hashem. Did he think that gay people would finally wake up and do tshuva? Totally nuts

I hope that at least this act of nekamah will avenge the wrath of G-D and he will not punish us further for allowing this parade to take place in the holiest of places.

Killing people because you don’t like them is not frum behavior. Thou shalt not kill, or are we the bad guys now?

Why do we protest against gays in a parade, yet celebrate pedophiles and protect them? The gays marching harm no one. The pedophiles in our midst harm everyone. In Rockland this week, 4 pedophiles walked free.

The girl killed was not a lesbian. She was just marching in the parade. For that she was killed? Anyone who supports this is sick.

I have no doubt that his release was orchestrated by the police so that they could put all Haredim in a dark light and justify prosecuting any anti-Gay activity.

This was a trap. Unfortunately, a young, innocent Jewish girl paid the price.

The way some of you write makes me sick to my stomach. Yes, a most heinous crime was carried out, by a deranged individual.

However, those paraders are not the tzadikim the world makes them to be. If one cannot control his/her ta’ava, nu, go into the privates of your privates and let r”l loose… How dare you pollute HaShem’s land by publicly displaying YOUR CONTEMPT of HIM. How would you feel if this deranged one makes a ‘murderers PRIDE MARCH’… They’re displaying their open contempt and derision to HaShem and His Torah, His Mitzvohs.

To the mocking one who wants to know what different this is than cheating… There’s no ‘Cheaters Pride Parade’ or ‘Mechelelei Shabbos Pride Parade’, else we’d be just as incensed. We’re not c”v trying to legalize it.

But let’s take it a step more, here we’re dealing with an unnatural lust, one brought about one’s own xxx There’s trying so desperately to remove any sense of natural guilt or shame (which HaShem effected for a most obvious reason) by making a pride thing about it. Sure… very normal… no need to hide… Something the Master of the World defined as abomination and unnatural, they’re trying so hard to openly defy…

The Italian homosexualists do parade in Rome and occasionally march around outside the Vatican. The pope just closes the windows, ignores them and carries on as usual.
