Jerusalem – A haredi rabbi from Jerusalem claimed on Sunday that police wounded his wife Saturday night upon detaining her for questioning in an investigation into the couple’s possible role in the gay pride parade stabbing that wounded five, and killed one teenage girl.

According to Rabbi Idan Grossman, a coterie of heavily armed officers entered his Beit Yisrael home when he was not present to question him about his relationship with Yishai Schlissel, who is accused in the Thursday attack.

Grossman, who has organized protests against gay pride parades in the capital in the past, said Saturday this is the second instance police have come to his home.

Upon determining that the rabbi was not present, officers requested that his wife, Yocheved, accompany them to the local police precinct for questioning. When she refused, Grossman claimed that she was injured as officers dragged her to a patrol car.

“I am simply in shock from everything that happened,” Grossman said to Walla! News following his wife’s release on Sunday.

“I feel that such a thing does not belong in the State of Israel. I want to tell you that anyone who witnessed this isn’t able to sleep at night from what they saw… about a dozen detectives descended on my wife and son – they broke into our home, without a warrant or anything.”

On Sunday, police denied that unnecessary force was used during Grossman’s arrest.

Meanwhile, the couple’s attorney, Itamar Ben-Gvir, claimed that police are violating the civil rights of anti-gay residents of the city in an effort to “cover up their fiasco” with Shlissel, who was released from prison three weeks before the attack after serving a 10-year prison sentence for stabbing three people during the capital’s 2005 gay pride parade.

“It’s not clear why they’re arresting people who oppose the gay pride parade,” said Ben-Gvir. “Is it forbidden to oppose a parade like this?” .

She resisted a lawful order from police. End of story. They were entirely within the law to detain her and drag her off to the police station after she resisted. She is lucky she was not more seriously hurt given the violence that these homophobic chareidim have exhibited in the past against both gays and the security forces.

Your opinion doesn’t matter because Anonymous #3 is an Israeli Law expert and he has the full 1st hand account of what happened during the forced entry into the home and the arrest of this lady. It’s just amazing how Ha-shem works. If religious Jews are not going to stop the gay marriage coming to israel soon then Iran will.

    1) We have no idea what happened but an injury to a rebetzin suggests more than a ‘request’ which she refused
    2) one can be against homosexual behavior [actually, one MUST be against such behavior to be considered an orthodox Jew] and not be a homophobe–which is a contrived word designed to classify anyone who disagrees with homosexual behavior as having an abnormal phobia.
    3) The word ‘gay’ was created to imply that the people who carry out homosexual behavior are somehow happy.
This is pure marketing for impure behavior. And it has worked wonders.

The police must answer the question: Why was this insane and murderous lunatic released from prison…three weeks before this parade? He was in jail for 10 years for this, and then, three weeks before the parade, they release him.

Were the Israeli police trying to foment anti-Haredi sentiment by releasing this nut job into the lion’s den? They had to know the outcome. Were they hoping for a stabbing so that they could prove how rotten Haredim are, and how vulnerable the gay population is in Israel.

    Me thinks so.

And a beautiful girl had her life taken from her. What a tragedy. The police have some ‘splainin’ to do.
