Sayreville, NJ - 3 Shipping Containers Full of Women's Clothing Stolen |
|
Sayreville, NJ - A group of thieves broke into a warehouse on Kennedy Drive and drove away with three tractor-trailer-sized shipping with tens of thousands of dollars in women's clothing just 200 yards from the Sayreville police headquarters.
The crime occurred just before 4 a.m. at the E.S. Sutton Inc. warehouse at 115 Kennedy Drive, Detective Sgt. David Lasko said. The burglars first entered the complex by disabling an alarm on the gate cutting a chained padlock on the front gate and then sliced open the padding around the loading area to get into the warehouse.
Besides the broken chain links found at the front gate, investigators found filings from the pin locks that latched the three trailers in place, which the thieves apparently drilled out, Lasko said.
The thieves also tampered with 14 other containers, though the exact value of the stolen property was not immediately known because the company is still checking its inventory.
The warehouse closed at 5 p.m. Friday. Police determined the time of the theft based on surveillance video, which investigators were still reviewing for other information.
Anyone with information is asked to call Sayreville police Detective Tom Fischer at 732-525-5400.

It was done when the warehouse was empty of all workers- I know one of the heads of the company- no suspicion of an "inside job"

And if a police station got robbed we would not be surprised either. Police officers are not taught to be pro active only re-active. This is the problem with their training and this is why community patrols are very effective.
