Police in the Hudson Valley village of Saugerties (SAW’-ger-teez) say 19-year-old Meredith McSpirit of Kingston was driving the car Wednesday morning when she failed to make a sharp turn and went down the embankment. No one was inside the home when it was struck.

Officers identified the dead as 22-year-old Dante Crump, 24-year-old Kaireem Meeks Jr., and 26-year-old Jante Clark, all of Kingston, and 22-year-old Adam McQueen of Ulster Park.

McSpirit is in stable condition at an Albany hospital.

All five had just finished a shift at an equestrian show where they worked.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
