New York - At this time of year, most of us are willing to fork out a goodly sum of money to acquire a beautiful mehudar esrog to honor the festival of Succos. But how many of us realize how valuable the esrog truly is, as a cure for many ailments? For further information, Mishpacha Magazine turned to Jerusalem’s renowned expert on the subject, Uzi Eli Chezi — better known as “The Esrog Man.”

To find Uzi Eli, you have to enter the cacophonous, kaleidoscope-colored world of the Machaneh Yehudah market. Here, every stallholder is a character, but Uzi Eli is a character among characters. And the claims are not modest; the label on his Pisgat Hateva drink states, “85 percent success with 119 illnesses,” including high blood pressure, menopause symptoms, etc. But what most people come for is Uzi Elis’s esrog products. Of all the natural health products that he sells, the most in demand by far is his famous esrog juice, and his skin cream and spray made from esrogim. Esrogim, it seems, can do just about everything, or so Uzi Eli claims.
