South Carolina – GOP presidential candidates Donald Trump and Ted Cruz are expected to headline a Capitol Hill rally against President Obama’s proposed nuclear agreement with Iran, both candidates confirmed Thursday.

Trump, the Republican front-runner by far, announced the event during a 45-minute speech in South Carolina. Cruz aides said the Texas senator extended the invitation to the billionaire developer ahead of Congress’ vote on the accord in mid-September.
Cruz’s campaign statement said the event is sponsored by Tea Party Patriots, the Center for Security Policy and the Zionist Organization of America. The Cruz campaign did not immediately offer other details, including the event date.
Their opposition to the Iran nuclear deal is not the only thing the pair have in common. They both appeal to populists angry about the way Washington works and have made cracking down on illegal immigration top priorities of their campaigns.
In fact, Cruz has refused to join other Republicans in criticizing Trump over the billionaire developer’s comments that illegal immigrants are “rapists” and criminals. Cruz, in fact, has refused to take Trump on over any other issue. And Trump has called Cruz “a nice guy.”
But they differ in key ways. Trump has nearly universal name recognition and a blunt-spoken campaign style that reflects his background as a reality show star. Cruz’s megaphone, even as a U.S. senator from Texas, can’t match Trump’s. But the Harvard-trained lawyer and former Supreme Court clerk offers polish and a record on immigration policy that’s ground in his personal background.
Congress is expected to begin debate on the accord when lawmakers return from recess Sept. 8
Vote trump
Trump’s knowledge about the Iran deal is as much as i know about the sputnik satellite.
I highly doubt he will be the Republican nominee. If he does make it i bet and hope he will loose in the general election in a smashing defeat.
He is very un-presidential and his wealth is far from what he wants people to believe.
Trump you are number one in my book
One thing the article fails to mention that they have in common, both are bare knuckle heads.
Strange that the two most arrogant and insensitive candidates would find common ground on the Iran treaty. Sort of like Hitler and Mussolini becoming chaverim in the years prior to WWII based on their shared racist and hateful political philosophy.
hey maven; what do you need to know about sputnik; trump is a draw and most of the other guys are a bore – personally I like lindsay graham for being able togovern but how electable is he really? On the other hand – Steven Harper is miles ahead of them all.
I think Trump would make a great president and Cruz a great vice-president.
where is Chuckie Schumer while all this is going on? He came out against the Iran deal but he hasn’t been heard from since. I wouldn’t be surprised if he made some back door deal with Obama to quiet the jews while not getting anybody else to follow
