Denmark - Dutch Chief Rabbi Says Police Warned Him A Year Ago About Traveling By Train
Denmark - On the heels of last week’s terrorist incident aboard a Thalys train headed to Paris from Amsterdam, Dutch Chief Rabbi Binyomin Jacobs revealed on Sunday that Dutch authorities warned him a year ago to try to avoid traveling by train.
JTA.org (http://bit.ly/1N4PWA9) reports that Jacobs offered up the admission during a Sunday speech in front of a gathering in Oosterbee celebrating his 40th anniversary of serving the Jewish community.
Jacobs said the train terror attack—-which left five injured after a man opened fire before ultimately being wrestled into submission by heroic passengers—-serves as an “illustration” that the threat isn’t “only for Jews.”
“We are in the same boat,” Jacobs said, before adding that police had in fact warned him against train travel due to his high-profile position.
