Norfolk, VA - A vice president of Norfolk-based People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals said today that his group was not behind any e-mails that a Brooklyn, N.Y., rabbi claims contained anti-Semitic messages in protest of the method of killing for Kappores, a ritual to atone for sin before Yom Kippur.

As reported first here on Vos Iz Neias, the rabbi said that some of the people who sent e-mails had added threatening and anti-Semitic comments to an online PETA form letter. He said he made a complaint with police, but it's unclear if an investigation is underway.

Bruce Friedrich, vice president of PETA, said today that his group sent a letter to police, asking for clarification of the complaint. By midday today, they hadn’t received a reply, he said.

“We are asking the police to let us know if there’s any basis to the claims,” Friedrich said. Although the animal rights group does oppose the ritual, PETA doesn’t condone anti-Semitic messages, Friedrich said. “We hope that police do fully investigate,” Friedrich said. “We’d be happy to chat with them.”

They might not be behind these messages but they create the climate that prompts
bigots to send anti semitic messages,
nowadays leftists are the biggest racists and anti semites

“If anyone is really sending threatening or anti-Semitic e-mails, that is both immoral and counterproductive,” Mr. Friedrich said. “It’s unfortunate when someone hands an animal abuser cause for self-righteousness.”

Just to enhance #1s comment. It's like loading a gun and handing it to a criminal, telling him (or her) to shoot and walking away before they pull the trigger. Technically, they (the peeetah (rhymes with Cheetah) ) didn't shoot!

PETA people are very lucky. They obviously never had any illness which needed anti-biotics which, to make sure they work and don't kill any HUMANS, were first tested on animals.
