Morris and Beth Faitelwicz were on their way back from a holiday weekend at a hotel in the Ellenville area when the single car crash occurred yesterday at approximately 4:30 PM.

Police said that it appears that Morris Faitelewicz, who was driving the car at the time of the accident, was driving eastbound in the right lane on Route 17 near Exit 112 when he attempted to switch into the left lane. Noticing that there was a vehicle in the left lane that prevented him from making the lane change, Faitelewicz quickly steered back into the right lane, but in doing so, he overcompensated and Faitelwicz’s vehicle left the roadway and went onto the right shoulder of the highway. Attempting again to correct his vehicle, Faitelewicz overcompensated as he swerved to the left, causing his vehicle to overturn, flip onto its side, become airborne and roll several more time before finally coming to a rest.

As reported Monday by VIN News, Police identified the three fatalities as Morris Faitelewicz, age 58, Beth Faitelewicz, age 54 and future son in law Yehuda Bayme of Riverdale, age 31. Also in the car were the Faitelewicz’s three children, Yaakov, age 29, Shani, age 27 and Avi, age 23.

Among those responding to the scene were State Police units from Wurtsboro and Liberty, State Police Wurtsboro BCI, Troop F Forensic Investigation Unit, Troop F Collision Reconstruction Unit, Hatzolah and Wurtsboro Fire Department.

The levaya for Yehuda Bayme will be taking place today at 1 PM at the Hebrew Institute of Riverdale with burial at the Cedar Park Beth El Cemetery in Paramus. Services for the Faitelewiczes will be taking place at 10 AM tomorrow at the Bialystoker Shul on the Lower East Side with burial at the New Montefiore Cemetery on Long Island.

Who isn’t shaken to the core?
Can’t place blame on young or inexperienced drivers.
Can’t blame it on a driver who knows nothing of life and death risky driving.
    Can’t blame anyone this time.
We are mere puppets in the hands of G-d.
We know not whether we will awake the next morning or never come home at end of the day. It’s why we cry מי יחיה ומי ימות .
And that was the plan, the destiny, planned out long before they came down to this earth. They can stand proudly and declare yes we have served your creations Hashem! We left the comforts of our home and bed to rise to the call of rendering emergency aid to fellow humans. That’s G-dly work. Who knows how many years they added to their lives up till now? We don’t know because G-d doesn’t want us to know but we must be cognizant of all the good these special Neshamos did while here.
Thank you again and again all our special bridder ind shvester, responding to the call of the Hatzoloh radio.
