Sukkos is the most joyous of the three Biblically-mandated festivals. During Sukkos Jews will construct a Sukkah, (a temporary hut), for this holiday to remember HaShem’s kindness in shielding the Israelites from the harshness of the Sinai Desert during their 40-year exodus from Egypt.
For the next seven days, Jews will dwell in their Sukkah by welcoming guests, dining with friends and family, and even sleeping in the structure.
We also take a palm branch, myrtle leaves, willows and a citron each symbolizing different ways to rejoice with HaShem.
The holiday lasts for 8 days in Israel, and 9 days in America.
We would like to wish all of our readers and advertisers a wonderful Sukkos – Chag Sameach! May we merit to make the pilgrimage to Jerusalem this Sukkos with Mashiach. Amen!
