People Arrested In New York City Are Often Jailed Past 24-Hour Limit |

New York City - In the 13 months ended last October, more than a third of the 360,000 people arrested in New York City sat in jail beyond the legal limit of 24 hours, according to a study released yesterday by the New York Civil Liberties Union.
