Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld initially called Tuesday’s stabbing near the IKEA store in Kiryat Ata a criminally motivated attack. Later, police said they concluded the man was hoping to stab an Arab in revenge for a wave of violent attacks against Jews that has spread across Israel.
However, he attacked another Israeli Jew whom he thought was an Arab because of his Middle Eastern appearance.
The 22-year-old victim was moderately wounded.
Earlier in the day, a pair of separate Palestinian stabbing and shooting attacks in Jerusalem killed three Israelis. Coupled with another two stabbing attacks in the central Israeli city of Raanana that injured five, the day marked a dramatic escalation of the month-long wave of violence.
Ikea drives anyone mad.
This is getting out of hand! Yidden….jews…what are u trying to prove? That you are the same murderous thugs,as ur enemy….? Stop….u just injured one of your own…take your anger and say a few kapitlech tehillim…or maybe teshuva for the unbelievers!
These yiddeshe extremists should kill one another; not innocent Israeli jews or arabs who want to live in peace. This guy who attacked an innocent Israeli is as much a terrorist as the Palestinian who stabbed a rav to death this AM at the bus stop and should have been shot dead on the spot rather than being arrested to face trial and due process rights he never accorded his victim.
