New York, NY - A collaborative between the city and a local startup has produced a new website that allows residents of neighborhoods across the city to check in an find out current information about almost everything that is happening; from traffic alerts and construction projects to quality-of-life issues and unsafe places to eat.
NY1.com (http://bit.ly/1MCEISy) reports that with a $20,000 investment from the city, Vizalytics—-a startup that specializes in bridging the gap between public and government data—-created the site that now allows New Yorkers to get real-time updates on neighborhood issues.
Jeff Merritt, director of innovation with the city of New York, said, “Our goal here was really bring everything that was specific to neighborhoods, bring it into one place, make it easy to use.”
