Marseilles, France - A Jewish man was stabbed twice in the stomach after he intervened in an attack on another Jewish worshipper and a rabbi by a man shouting anti-Semitic slurs near a Marseilles synagogue Saturday morning.

124NEWS.TV (http://bit.ly/1OOgs1s) reports that according to local accounts, the 30-year-old attacker appeared to be drunk when he first assaulted the rabbi and worshipper while spewing anti-Semitic remarks.

As the third man intervened, the attacker produced a knife and stabbed him twice in the abdomen.

A judicial source said the Jewish man’s wounds were serious, but not life threatening.

The attacker, who has a history with local police, has been arrested.
